Batteries with EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery) technology use regular liquid electrolyte, however the lead plates are made thicker than conventional batteries. At the same time, the positive plates are subjected to so-called fiber packaging (MFW-fleece technology), which prevents the active substance from shedding. Such features provide EFB batteries with twice the number of charge-discharge cycles without loss of functionality. It is important that batteries with EFB technology used for start-stop systems lose very little capacity potential after deep discharges, and charge much faster than conventional acid batteries.
